Our Spring walk...

This afternoon we went for a walk around the school grounds to look for signs of Spring..
We saw buds on the trees nearly ready to blossom..
daisy's growing on the field...
Daffodils are growing...
Wild flowers are growing...
We enjoyed looking at the growing flowers in 'Our Lady's garden'...

The three little pigs and Jack and the beanstalk...

Last week we really enjoyed our role play activities, we were retelling adapted 'three little pigs' stories written by year 5 children...

And we were retelling and making up our own jack and the beanstalk stories as the children have been excited about their own growing bean plants...

Welcome back...we've been busy planting!

This week we have been reading 'Jasper's beanstalk'. We are having our own beanstalk growing competition in class. In each of our groups we have planted a bean and are keeping bean diaires to record their growth. Keep watching over the next few weeks to find out which group's bean plant will grow the tallest...

Will it be the dragonflies...
...or the crocodiles...
... or the zebras...

Or the giraffes... or lions?!

We hope that you all had a lovely christmas break and wish you a happy new year! The children have all settled back in school very well and have had a busy week.
This term we are learning about animals and this week we have changed our role play area into a vet surgery and pet shop. The children have been bringing in pictures of their pets and talking about them have all really enjoyed learning about the role of a vet. They have been busy caring for toy animals with bandages, medicine, food and drink...
